Over more than 20 years I design and create clothing I (see my bio and bottom of the text **).

In 2014 I started to specialize in reconstructing. And was Studio HENKE a fact and the independent label HENKE was launched a year later. For HENKE, vintage and existing garments of good quality and natural transforming them into new styles and outfits, often giving a different function when worn. Garment details get a new look, but will still be recognized in the original.

For example, two men shirts becoming a dress and a men's suit a jumpsuit. By reusing materials we show our respect for the environment, raw materials and - labor.
There is a basic collection available; if color, size or material not match your size or taste, it can also be customade. This is a good thing, so there will be no overproduction and waste of material and / or labour,

Each item is different by using different materials, choice of colors and the shape of the original garment. The clothing comes in sizes EURO 36 / m 42. And produced in the studio or in coop with a social workshop.

Each season (spring / summer and fall / winter) the collection get some new pieces and if necessary a new look for existing models. No temporary trends, but organically growing collection. Both in appearance, but also in technology.

HENKE represents more individualistic and personal clothing, away from the high-speed trends and abundance in uniqueness in the main shopping streets. Whatever you purchase in HENKE, it is a one of a kind.

** Some more history: In 2009, I lived in Italy and bought an old machine. And out of nothing I just made a bag out of an old tennis shorts from my partner. This was the start of more bags made of garments, mainly from the 60s and 70s. In Italy you have many markets with piles of used clothes, I delved into the plastique, but beautiful garments from the appointed years.
This was the year I openend this etsy shop under the name Fou Roux.
In Italy and later back in the Netherlands I toured around all kinds of markets with my bags and other homemade accessoires.
